This exciting project is the brain child of renowned Director | Photographer, JJ Keith, celebrating the enormous contribution from the amazing and diverse migrants who are resident in Great Britain today.

As interest in the project began to grow exponentially, JJ felt that it needed an identity of its own and approached us to collaborate on this element of the project.

We shared the growing enthusiasm for the Open Britain project and agreed to develop a logo and visual identity system.

We spoke at length with JJ to understand the goals for the design, gaining a deeper understanding of the project along with JJ's motivations and targets.

We gave our client, JJ, a little homework by way of a brand questionnaire which further revealed key factors to be considered. These were boiled down into the core elements that should be included in the logo design

  • The initials of the project, O+B

  • An open door

We conducted an iterative conceptual process, designing multiple options, but when we came to the use of negative space, we were confident that JJ would approve - and we were right!

With the logo design signed-off, we wanted to work on a word mark that would be complementary and also maintain the design detail applied to the logo.
